Hot Bod in a Box

I have to say upfront that I’m a huge Jillian Michaels fan. I’m a member of her weight loss website and I listen to her radio show every week. And Jillian Michaels has just released a cool new product to help us work up a sweat in the gym. Hot Bod in a Box is a set of workout cards than comes in a flip-top box. The exercise card set starts you off with a couple of general cards detailing information about workout plans, weight lifting, circuit training, and how you should use the cards.

There are nine Circuit Training cards and each one details all of the exercises that you’ll be doing in each specific workout. So, for instance, Workout 1 starts you off with dumbbell presses on a body ball, followed by dumbbell flys on a body ball with crunches. Each exercise is numbered and the number corresponds with a detailed exercise card showing you more information about the exercise. The detailed exercise card shows you photos of how to do the exercise along with step-by-step instructions on how to perform the exercise properly.

I think this is a fantastic product and I can’t wait to start using it. First of all, it takes all of the thinking and preparation out of working out. In my relationship, I’m the planner / organizer. So when my partner and I go to the gym, he always looks to me for the routine. I usually have a little piece of paper in my pocket, and then, the two of us stand there trying to figure out how to do a decline dumbbell press. With the Hot Bod in a Box card set, I can simply pull the circuit training card that we’re going to do that day, and then, pull all of the corresponding exercise cards (keeping them in the order on the workout card) and we’re all set. We can follow the routine and if we need to reference the exercise, the detailed cards will guide us through them. Upon returning home, I just return all the exercise cards back in order with the other cards, and they’ll be easier to find tomorrow when I’m planning the next workout.

I also like that there are nine routines. Let’s face it, working out isn’t always the most interesting thing to do, so anything that keeps it interesting is great. And having nine workouts to move through means that my body won’t be getting used to any one routine too quickly.

I would have improved on the card set by showing us on each circuit training card which muscle groups are being worked. We’re told over and over not to work out the same muscle group back to back and that our muscles need some rest in between workouts, so it would have been nice to have some more information on the circuit training cards. I also would have included a little case of some kind to carry with you to the gym. I’m not sure I want to bring the whole box, so it would have been nice to have a little plastic sleeve to use to carry your workout cards to the gym. But the cards are coated so they should hold up in the gym even if your hands do get a little sweaty. But even so, the price of the product can’t be beat, so they’re easily replaceable if they become worn out – and wouldn’t that be a nice problem to have? You really would have a “hot bod” then! For less than $15, and in some places less than $10, you’re getting an excellent workout tool. Click here to see more details about the Hot Bod in a Box workout card set.
