Day 2 - What a Difference a Week Makes

What a big difference between this and last week. After my first workout with my trainer, Phil, I was pretty much done in for the rest of the day. And for the two days afterward, I was sore — it even hurt to type, and I’m on a computer all day. My third workout with Phil was quite a bit different. I had to do full sit-ups again this week and this time around I was able to do the full three sets of 10 sit-ups each; last week I couldn’t finish the third set. Generally I didn’t find the workout to be such an effort, and in fact, when Phil called me over to the bench for my stretch, I thought I still had another round of something. But no, it was stretch time. I was finished! I adore those stretches. Phil takes your arms and stretches them out nicely and rubs your shoulders. It’s heaven after a hard workout.
So it’s gratifying to see that kind of progress from one week to the next. These weight loss projects can be difficult because we don’t always get the feedback we want when we want it. Mostly we want to see the number going down on the scale. (I’m desperate to get some weight off because I feel so uncomfortable at the moment.) But it’s certainly encouraging to feel changes in my body so quickly.
